is seeking a full-time Board-Certified General or Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for an exciting dual administrative and academic leadership role.

Health partnered with The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC to establish a regional medical campus on site which provides education and training to 3 rd
and 4 th
year medical students. This position is a
multi-dimensional
administrative, clinical, and academic role which involves providing direct patient care at the ambulatory clinic at Sinai Hospital and developing clinical programs with a vision to expand community services across the age spectrum. As the Clerkship
Director
the candidate will be responsible for overseeing psychiatry training for the 3 rd
and 4 th
year medical students. Overview: Sinai
Hospital
within the system’s service
line
operates various behavioral health
programs
which include inpatient services for adults,
partial
hospital program,
substance use
treatment program, consultation & liaison service, emergency psychiatric care and an outpatient program. The Medical Director will be responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of the programs in addition to providing direct care to patients. They will work closely with their administrative
dyad
partner in the Director of Ambulatory Care, Behavioral Health, LifeBridge Health. The team has a direct reporting relationship
to
the Chair of the Department, and the AVP of Behavioral Health for LifeBridge Health System. It is the strategic vision of the health system to build a Center of Excellence for Child and Adolescent Mental Health and
is
looking for a driven, dynamic, and
a future oriented
clinician administrator to partner with in this initiative. Clinical: Provide direct clinical care to adolescents and adults
at
the outpatient program. The
scope,
and allocation of
time for clinical activity will be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Supervise a
multi-disciplinary
team including
APPs ,
LCPCs ,
LCSWs ,
RNs Administrative: Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, with attention to the current best practice guidelines. Assist the department chair
with as needed

requirements Collaborate with
clinical
documentation department to ensure appropriate and timely documentation as per program
policies Collaborate with the service line leadership to aid in monitoring, evaluating, and managing the operational budget for the
program Lead patient, employee, and clinicians’ engagement programs and assist with recruitment and retention
efforts Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, with continued focus on ensuring compliance with documentation and revenue cycle operations, and assist with regulatory, accreditation, and
payor
preparedness. Engage in committees that support
of clinical
practice issues as requested by the Chair and hospital
leadership Spearhead outreach and highlight
services
of the department to the public and physician community and collaborate with marketing teams to assist with increasing patient
access Identify the need for Department policy development and/or revision and recommends new and amended policies to service line leadership consistent with their goals objectives Academic:
Clerkship Director of Psychiatry Directing all components of the clerkship (day-to-day management and ongoing planning) Orient students to the clerkship at
start
of each rotation Develop and implement the clerkship curriculum to meet the clerkship objectives, as they relate
to the school’s program objectives and integrate vertically and horizontally with other
courses Design, teach, or arrange educators for the educational sessions that occur
on
the clerkship
(Student day sessions, other
didactics ,
etc ) to support the learning
objectives Prepare and maintain the clerkship syllabus and related materials in accordance with school
guidelines Ensure mid-clerkship feedback is occurring for every student on the clerkship Assessing
students - Collect , compile, and assign final grades for each student on the clerkship, meeting
accreditation deadlines and handle grade appeals in accordance with school policy Routinely review evaluative data about clerkship and plan improvements where needed Prepare/participate in clerkship course reviews (and serve as occasional peer reviewer for other courses) Ensure/monitor comparability across sites (objectives, assessment methods, clinical encounters,
performance, satisfaction) Know school policies Ensure processes are in accordance with accreditation standards Participate in school’s curriculum or other education committee(s) Collaborate with
faculty
development office to ensure faculty are prepared to teach medical students and are familiar with learning objectives and assessment
methods Communicate routinely with
department
chair and deans’ office, escalate when
needed Handle student queries and maintain responsiveness to students Advising role: letter writing, career advising in the field Stay abreast of innovations in medical education, contribute to scholarly projects in medical education and
participate in
national
clerkship directors’ society ( COMSEP ,
CDIM , etc.) Faculty receive a full-time academic appointment with The GWU School of Medicine at
the
rank commensurate with their achievements per standards set by the SOM. A plethora of career development resources are available through the school of medicine in addition to the

growth Requirements: BC General or Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
eligible
for a Maryland State Medical License & DEA at the time of
appointment Must have
3-5 years
of clinical and academic
experience
preferably in an ambulatory or community
setting Additional expertise in interventional modalities and novel therapeutics such
TMS,
