The RoleWe are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:
- Engage with foster parents to promote meaningful supervision of placements.
- Maintain high standards through quality assurance and training for foster parents.
- Recruit, train, and supervise foster parents while promoting the welfare of children.
This role requires excellent report writing skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. A full driving license and the ability to travel across the North West are essential.
Requirements- Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in fostering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to high-quality practice, including occasional evening and weekend work.
- Participation in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
- Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in decision-making.
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Orange Grove).
