Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the Education Team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
- Providing in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Addressing immediate concerns and resolving situations effectively.
- Creating and compiling lesson and intervention information.
- Assisting in preparing information for pupil-related meetings.
- Acting as an advocate for our school’s ethos.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
- Enhancing the role of Pupil Voice and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- The confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
