*Responsibilities:*
* Circulating and scrubbing in, assists during physician supervised procedures with proper sterile preparation of patient areas, procedure trays and any additional supplies and devices used during the procedure.
* Must maintain professional, clinical, and technical competency to perform radiologic diagnostic imaging procedures. Procedures include but are not limited to, diagnostic/interventional vascular angiograms, venous access, vertebroaugmentation and basic genitourinary/gastrointestinal procedures.
* Correctly and safely operates interventional equipment.
* Maintain equipment needed to perform procedures.
* Transfers and positions patients.
* Provides immobilization devices as required.
* Must have room set up (including sterile field) and equipment calibrated prior to start of each procedure.
* Communicate, inventory, and/or order department/facility supplies. Assist in restocking supplies throughout the facility.
* Perform monthly inventory audits for outdated, damaged, or missing supplies. Report all issues immediately to facility administrator and notify vendor for consignment exchange.
* Assist in the onboarding or cross training of team members.
* Starts IVs as requested by physicians.
* Identify each patient by 2 patient identifiers and verify physicians/patients signed consents before beginning the procedure.
* Perform patient pre-screening- by completing forms for procedure including health forms, medical symptoms, history, contraindications, and education related to the examination.
* Document procedure codes, supplies, and required radiation doses in EMR.
* Always follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
* Assures that rooms are equipped with necessary supplies and linens.
* Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel and notify BioMed or Service Engineer.
* Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
* Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
* Communicates the mission and goals of the facility.
* Actively participates in performance improvement and quality improvement measures.
* Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
* Ability to work both independently and as a care team member.
* Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Other tasks as assigned.
*Required:*
* Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* Credentials Accepted- (R) (VI) (CV)
* BLS (Basic Life Support) healthcare provider, obtained upon hire, American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* ACLS - or obtain in the first 90 days after hire.
* Computer Skills - related to PACS and EMR
* Ability to multi-task.
* Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
* One years’ experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.
* Lifting 50 pounds is required.
* Licensure by the State of Kansas Board of Healing Arts, with no encumbrance.
*Education:*
* Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology
* Kansas State Licensure (LRT)
