Our tutors have logged over 250,000 hours providing diagnosis and instruction to students in the one-on-one setting.
Position Summary
The Accounts Manager is a high-touch, front-line professional responsible for guiding prospective families through the enrollment process. Serving as a brand ambassador, this role conducts in-depth placement interviews to assess student needs and provide recommendations for tutoring services. By pairing students with the ideal tutor and providing “concierge” style support, you ensure every client receives a personalized and seamless introduction to PrepMatters premier educational services. This role offers hybrid flexibility, with a 60% in-office presence to support team collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Convert email and telephone inquiries to successful placements by advising families on PrepMatters services based on their students' academic needs.
- Work closely with students' families and our tutors to ensure a high level of successful placement outcomes.
- Provide concierge-style customer service to prospective and current customers when answering questions or addressing concerns about company services.
- Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to optimize placement success.
- Establish an ongoing and trusting relationship with the students’ families.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, placements, and follow-ups within the company CRM system.
- Achieve key performance metrics by leveraging CRM data to track client interactions and collaborating with the tutoring team to optimize long-term placement success.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 2 years in sales or high-end customer service.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated customer service experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills, with the ability to articulate complex educational concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Consultative Mindset: Proven ability to take initiative, confidently direct customer inquiries, and guide families toward the best service fit.
- Detail Orientation: Superior organizational skills and a natural aptitude for managing complex schedules and client details.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and an ability to quickly master new CRM (Zoho preferred) or scheduling technology.
- Professionalism: A dependable, "concierge" attitude with the emotional intelligence to manage sensitive family academic needs.
Benefits
This position offers a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision insurance, paid sick leave, paid time off, paid holidays, employer paid life insurance and disability, SIMPLE IRA with employer match and an Employee Assistance Program).
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000
Individual pay is set based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skill level, and background, to ensure a fair and commensurate offer.
Location & Residency Requirement
This position is based out of our Bethesda, Maryland office and requires regular in-person engagement. To be considered for this role, applicants must currently reside in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC. This position follows a hybrid work model, with an expected 60% in-office presence at our Bethesda location to support team collaboration and client engagement.

Physical Demands
This position primarily involves sedentary work in an office or remote setting. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to operate computers and related equipment, and communicate verbally and in writing. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment up to 10 pounds may be required. Visual acuity is necessary for prolonged use of computer monitors.
