Description: Our client is looking for a skilled Security Architect with a background in law enforcement, government, or public safety IT environments. Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as CJIS, NIST, and FedRAMP is essential. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident due to federal security clearance requirements. The position is located onsite in Tustin, CA. Our W2 consultants enjoy an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Rate:
$80.00 to $90.00/hr. W2 Responsibilities: Design, implement, and optimize Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls and related security services. Develop and enforce security policies and network segmentation strategies in line with Zero Trust principles. Act as the top-tier subject matter expert for Palo Alto security configurations and troubleshooting. Architect secure remote access solutions using enterprise VPN technologies, ensuring least privilege and MFA controls. Establish and enforce wireless security policies that include secure authentication and network encryption. Design secure DNS architectures incorporating DNSSEC or private DNS services. Lead the design and tuning of enterprise SIEM, integrating device logs and developing correlation rules. Maintain and test the Incident Response Plan while leading technical response throughout the incident lifecycle. Conduct post-incident reviews to identify security gaps and recommend enhancements. Ensure security architecture complies with CJIS and other regulations. Create and maintain security standards and reference architectures across the enterprise. Perform regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and strategies for remediation. Implement security measures to protect information integrity and confidentiality. Evaluate and recommend emerging security technologies and products. Develop security policies and procedures while facilitating training and awareness programs. Experience Requirements: 7+ years of relevant experience in security engineering and system/network security. Expert technical leadership experience in a SOC or cybersecurity services organization. Strong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks architecture and security products. Proven experience in network security design, deployment, and troubleshooting. Leading experience in SIEM design and log correlation. Developed and executed incident response plans and playbooks. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under pressure. Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexible hours. Consistent implementation of security solutions and vulnerability testing experience. Education Requirements: BS in Cybersecurity or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years. CISSP or GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or computer engineering.
