Group Financial Controller

A rapidly expanding investment and operations group is seeking a high‑calibre Group Financial Controller to join its senior finance leadership team. This is a broad, commercially focused role supporting a diverse portfolio spanning property, energy, hospitality and investment activities. The position sits directly under the CFO and is suited to a high‑performing accountant seeking a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead management reporting, consolidated accounts and financial analysis across multiple entities
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits and financial governance
• Manage tax compliance with support from advisors (CT, VAT, payroll taxes, capital allowances, etc.)
• Support investment appraisals, due diligence, cashflow forecasting and financial modelling
• Enhance finance systems, controls and processes (Dynamics 365 exposure beneficial)
• Oversee treasury operations and banking relationships
• Partner with commercial, property, energy and investment teams on financial matters
• Manage and mentor a growing finance team

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Big 4 trained, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with excellent academic background.
• Strong technical accounting capability with some tax experience (corporation tax, VAT, capital allowances)
• Experience in multi‑entity environments or complex portfolios an advantage.
• Commercial, analytical and comfortable working in a fast‑moving, deal‑driven business.
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Confident managing competing priorities with high levels of autonomy.
