Job Description: As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and maintaining state-of-the-art cloud-based solutions, primarily utilizing the Microsoft Azure platform. Your collaboration with clients, development teams, infrastructure teams, and data & analytics groups will be vital for ensuring the successful implementation and operation of cloud services. This includes designing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any arising issues. Key Responsibilities: Azure Solution Design:
Work collaboratively with development teams and architects to design cloud-based solutions on the Azure platform. Assess requirements, suggest design alternatives, and recommend best practices for scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization. Azure Networking:
Design and maintain network infrastructure solutions utilizing Azure services, including managing virtual networks, subnets, routing tables, network security groups, and load balancers. Troubleshoot network-related issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime. Azure Infrastructure Deployment:
Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure components, such as virtual machines and storage accounts. Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaaC) practices with tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI. Azure Service Provisioning:
Provision and oversee Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Active Directory. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of Azure resources. Investigate issues related to application availability, performance, and security; perform root cause analyses and implement preventive actions. Security and Compliance:
Implement robust security measures to protect Azure resources and data. Adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards. Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediate as necessary. Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Design and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies for Azure-based applications and data. Configure Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other pertinent services. Collaboration and Documentation:
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and support project delivery. Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and deployment guides. Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest Azure features, services, and industry trends. Proactively explore and propose new solutions and methodologies to optimize infrastructure, enhance security, and streamline operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong experience in designing and managing cloud solutions on the Azure platform (experience with AWS and GCP is a plus). Proficiency in Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity and access management. Proven capability in designing and implementing network infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. Strong understanding of Azure networking services, including virtual networks, VPN gateways, and Azure Load Balancer. Familiarity with security best practices related to cloud environments. Solid knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and disaster recovery. Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools like PowerShell or Azure CLI. Excellent troubleshooting skills within Azure environments. Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with teams. Key Stakeholders: Internal Senior BI Analyst Data Product Manager BI Architect / Senior Architect Data Engineers Analytics Developers (Power BI, Tableau) External Client Operations Leads and Mid-Level Managers Data Owners, Data Stewards Enterprise Information Management and Data Governance Team We appreciate talent from across the United States and are open to considering candidates outside of Crowe office locations for this role.
