JOB TITLE: Data Quality Assurance LOCATION: Remote PAY RANGE: $20 - $30/hr. DURATION: 12 Months
TOP 3 SKILLS:
Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies efficiently. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and familiarity with AI tools for data tasks (e.g., prompt engineering, creating repeatable Agents). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Duties: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Jr Data Quality Analyst Contractor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing manual data quality checks, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that data is updated accurately and in a timely manner. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high data quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Software/Services Release Lifecycle process:
To be effective in this role, the candidate will be required to learn the ins/outs of internal release governance processes and nuances. Be able to hold process discussions with data owners (ex: PgMs, PMMs) and point to process requirements when discrepancies arise. Understand the requirements enough to capture necessary information when outliers occur and loop in the core team for inspection, in a timely manner.
Data Quality Checks:
Conduct regular data quality assessments to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information. Utilize tools and techniques to analyze datasets and ensure accuracy and completeness. Develop and implement data quality metrics and reporting.
Data Validation and Correction:
Validate data entries against source documents and correct any discrepancies. Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to resolve data issues. Ensure that data corrections are made promptly and accurately.
Follow-Up and Communication:
Communicate with relevant departments and individuals to gather missing information and clarify data discrepancies. Follow up on data correction requests to ensure timely updates. Provide regular updates on data quality status and progress to management.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of data quality issues, corrective actions, and follow-up activities. Generate reports on data quality metrics and trends for management review. Develop and maintain data quality guidelines and best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance data quality. Participate in data quality improvement projects and initiatives. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data quality management.
Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using MS Office Suite, and other standard software tools (e.g., Excel, Outlook, etc). Familiar with using AI tools (e.g., prompt engineering, creating Agents for repeatable tasks). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data issues.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with data governance and data stewardship practices. Familiarity with data quality frameworks and standards. Knowledge of database management systems and data integration processes.
