Position Description :
Drives platform evolution by designing and developing resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform, including Oracle DB on Azure and Azure-managed services - Data Factory, Storage Account, and Azure Key Vault. Strategizes and builds Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) solutions, including configuration management and version control. Creates data driven business solutions using Oracle relational databases on Azure and data transformation Extract, Transform Load (ETL) frameworks using Shell Scripting, Control-M and Azure Data Factory. Evaluates new tools introduced at enterprise level by performing Proof of Concepts (POC) measured against complex use-cases, working closely with architects and enterprise level teams for testing and establishing common standards related to Infrastructural and coding best practices, risk and compliance, data access and governance, resiliency and observability, automation and deployment pipelines, and network security before implementing across teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design and strategy discussions. Defines and implements application-level architecture. Develops application solutions on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools, approaches and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA and Production readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple teams. Responsible for meeting project deadlines and goals. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple initiatives. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple teams supporting several business initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Serves as a technical subject matter expert within the team, coaching and mentoring team members on their day-to-day tasks and being a catalyst in their career growth. Validates and provides enterprise level process changes involving impact analysis, formalizing the steps for multiple use-cases across different components and performs full functionality, performance, scale, load and resiliency testing before full rollout of the changes to all project teams. Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform and delivering ETL solutions in a financial services environment, using Oracle and Azure technologies.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform and delivering ETL solutions in a financial services environment, using Oracle and Azure technologies.
Skills and Knowledge :
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") building Cloud-native 401k recordkeeping platform on Azure, including Oracle databases setup, Azure Data Factory (ADF) Infrastructure provisioning, and enabling data replication via Oracle GoldenGate, IBM Change Data Capture (CDC), and Infrastructure as Code based deployment of Azure services (Storage Accounts and Key Vaults); and performing automated rehydration and upgrades using Jenkins and Azure Resource Manager, and Disaster recovery automation using AWX, Cutover, and Jenkins. DE performing resiliency and observability testing on data platform components (Virtual Machines, Databases, Storage Accounts, and ETL pipelines in ADF and Control M); designing and building CI/CD self-service deployment solutions for Oracle databases, ADF, and Shell scripts, with automated configuration management, using GIT, Shell, Groovy, Jenkins, and IBM UDeploy; and engineering Microsoft Entra ID based authentication to Azure Services from ADF, Java, and Azure Function Apps. DE building file movement frameworks from Mainframe to Azure, using shell scripting, IBM Mainframe z/OS Network File System, and AzCopy; automating on-demand Azure service queries (Key Vaults, ADF, Storage Accounts, and Virtual Machines) using Powershell, Jenkins, Groovy, and Azure command line; and setting Azure Databricks Infrastructure including secured networking, workspaces, compute clusters, drafting access model standards, resiliency, automation, and deployment pipelines. DE developing high-performance Oracle database PL/SQL packages and complex SQL queries for ETL operations; building Informatica, ADF data transformation pipelines, and Databricks notebooks to migrate files and table data across Mainframe, Oracle, and Azure Storage Account; executing unit and performance testing using SQL Developer, Toad, and Apache JMeter; and improving database and query performance through Database infrastructure tuning, data reorganization, database memory optimization, and analyzing AWR reports, using SQL Developer.
Salary: $147,000.00 - $166,000.00/year.
