We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded individual to join our team as Commercial Financial Controller, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and business partnering and will play a key role in providing strategic financial support and guidance to the business unit Managing Directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support for strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with Directors to develop and track annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics, and provide regular updates and variance analysis.
- Monitor and analyse cashflow performance, proactively identifying issues, reporting insights to key stakeholders and implementing recovery plans.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract performance, monitoring risk and efficiencies to help drive positive change in outcomes for the business and our clients.
- Provide guidance and support on financial aspects of new projects, investments, and business initiatives.
- Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities within the business units and recommend and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial objectives with overall business strategy.
- Mentor and support junior finance team members and contribute to the overall development and success of the finance function within the organisation.
Experience and Qualifications
- A qualified accountant (e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5 years post qualified experience.
- Proven experience in commercially focused finance roles, supporting business performance and decision making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment, and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to working with colleagues across the business.
