Description Join our team at Leidos, where we support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in providing essential command and control services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support DISA-provided capabilities and services through an engaging role focused on installation oversight, configuration, testing, and monitoring of network equipment. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start. Primary Responsibilities: As a Network Engineer, you will: Coordinate with customers and perform Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) while managing all reporting functions to ensure new network equipment aligns with DISA standards.
Configure and maintain a robust out-of-band management network using Cisco and Juniper devices, tailoring baseline configurations for various sites.
Upgrade software on networking devices to maintain optimal operation and performance.
Create and update project documentation to design IP addressing schemes and manage port assignments for network nodes.
Conduct systems analysis to gather functional requirements and support user needs with hardware and software solutions.
Ensure accuracy of information such as points of contact and interface details in accordance with established requirements.
Verify correct contact points for circuit pathways to enhance communication effectiveness.
Collaborate with DISA project managers and customers to clarify requirements and resolve issues promptly.
Engage stakeholders for approvals to ensure continuous progress on service requests.
Basic Qualifications: Proficient knowledge of network hardware specifications, configuration, and testing methodologies.
Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.
Strong understanding of networking architecture and the ability to assess and recommend innovative technology solutions.
Familiarity with data and voice network design, military and commercial protocols, and circuit configurations.
Expertise in network services and appliances including routers, load balancers, and firewalls.
Knowledge of effective network system configuration, activation, testing, and analysis.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, while also being self-motivated to complete defined tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with DISA systems and processes.
Data entry experience with SharePoint or similar platforms.
Familiarity with ordering services on behalf of customers and handling service requests in DISA Storefront (DSF).
Experience in outreach and ensuring accuracy of service order details.
Required Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree with 3 years of specialized experience, or; An associate's degree with 7 years of specialized experience, or; A major certification with 7 years of specialized experience, or; 11 years of specialized experience.
