ABOUT THE ROLE


Northumbria University is looking for a detail-driven and proactive individual to join our Finance and Strategic Planning team as a Credit Control Apprentice. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic finance environment while earning a nationally recognised qualification. 

As an integral part of our finance operations, you'll play a key role in delivering high quality financial services to internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out credit control and collection activities
  • Assisting with billing, credit notes and reconciliation tasks
  • Using key University systems to car out day-to-day duties efficiently
  • Analysing and evaluating data to formulate appropriate responses to resolve defined problems

The training provider  working with us to deliver the apprenticeship is Kaplan.

Under the apprentice scheme, a minimum of six hours per week will be invested in training towards the achievement of your qualification. In addition to the support offered through the training provider, a workplace mentor will provide practical advice and guidance throughout the duration of your apprenticeship. 


ABOUT THE TEAM


This position sits within the Shared Services Team, in Finance and Strategic Planning. 

The Finance and Strategic Planning team plays a vital role in supporting the University to plan, manage, and optimise its financial resources - ensuring they are used sustainably, responsibly, and in alignment with strategic objectives.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Completed your A Level studies (or will be awaiting your results), and will have a minimum grade 5 in both Maths and English language.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused attitude
  • The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively, building strong working relationships
