Full time Job Summary:
As a Mobile Maintenance Technician at J.B. Hunt, you will be an essential part of our maintenance team, servicing and repairing our fleet of trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment directly at customer sites or rail yards. Using a fully equipped mobile service truck, your expertise will ensure our equipment meets quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and perform complex repairs and preventive maintenance tasks on tractor and trailer equipment, including tire replacements, brake repairs, and electrical diagnostics. Manage recall campaigns and sign off on completion to ensure compliance and safety. Perform diagnostics and repairs on ABS systems and specialized equipment such as refrigerated units and lift gates. Train and mentor new technicians while coordinating tasks and shift support. Adhere to all safety protocols while working at customer locations or rail yards. Efficiently operate and maintain the mobile service truck, managing parts inventory accurately. Document work orders thoroughly according to company procedures. Assess and report any damage to company equipment to evaluate repair costs. Utilize cutting torch and welding equipment for structural repairs efficiently. Seal and patch trailer/container side panels to maintain equipment integrity. Conduct and sign off on annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs, or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent military experience. Clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines. Personal basic tools required, with the option to purchase through our toolbox program. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if needed. DOT-certified for FHWA inspections and air brakes. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of relevant maintenance and repair experience. Welding certification and forklift certification. EPA Section 608 certification and Refrigeration License. Strong communication skills and effective prioritization abilities. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Physical ability to lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds and wear appropriate protective gear. Applicants will be considered for I, II, or Sr. Level Technician based on verified experience and position availability. This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship. Compensation:
