As Content & Communications Manager for the Partnership for Education, you will be at the heart of shaping Cambridge's global voice on education reform. Drawing on policy and evidence, you'll create compelling thought leadership content and impact stories. You'll weave data and human stories into narratives that demonstrate how our work improves outcomes for teachers, learners and entire education systems.
About the role
Working alongside colleagues across the business, you'll:
* Lead strategic storytelling and long‑form editorial content:
* Develop and deliver content marketing and thought‑leadership strategies aligned with our International Education priorities.
* Research, plan, write and edit compelling case studies that blend data with human stories to bring our impact to life.
* Produce authoritative content such as op‑eds, reports and speeches for senior leaders.
* Create content across channels:
* Write and optimise website content, news stories, landing pages and copy that clearly articulate complex value propositions.
* Translate long‑form content into multichannel assets for social, email and campaigns; ensure SEO/AEO best practice supports discoverability and engagement.
* Turn complex insights into powerful narratives: Work closely with research, technical and delivery colleagues to distil research, monitoring and evaluation outputs into accessible and compelling content for governments and donor audiences.
Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:
* Shaping visual storytelling:
* Briefing and collaborating with designers, photographers and videographers to deliver impactful visual assets, including infographics, photography and data‑led visuals.
* Managing suppliers and upholding editorial excellence
* Commissioning and managing freelancers, ensuring outputs meet brand, accuracy, accessibility and narrative standards.
* Championing our editorial style guide, tone of voice and quality standards across all content.
This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.
About You You'll be an experienced, proactive and audience focused storyteller who is confident working with complex subject matter. You'll bring:
- Solid previous experience in content, communications or editorial roles, ideally within policy, education, international development or complex organisations.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across long‑form, product copy, digital content and short‑form channels and a passion for accuracy, Plain English, accessibility and brand guardianship.
- Experience turning research and strategic insights into compelling, credible narratives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence interviewing senior leaders and external partners.
- Experience creating content in multiple languages for multiple audiences around the world.
- An eye for effective design.
- Strong organisational and time management skills and experience managing agencies, designers and freelancers.
- Awareness of the education sector.

* Final stage interview: in-person at our offices in Cambridge with the hiring manager and the Director of Marketing & Communications, followed by informal coffee with several further members of the team.
