We are hiring an Inventory Control Specialist in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to oversee and manage our warehouse inventory. This critical role ensures the accuracy of stock levels, identifies discrepancies, and implements strategies to maintain optimal inventory health. You will be instrumental in minimizing stockouts and overstock situations, contributing directly to the efficiency of our logistics operations. Responsibilities include conducting cycle counts, reconciling inventory records, and investigating variances. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics. Adherence to safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory to ensure a secure working environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
- Investigate the root causes of inventory variances.
- Manage and maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stockouts or overstock situations.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and other departments to resolve inventory issues.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, turns, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting duties as required, typically up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification is a plus.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
