Are you detail-oriented and looking for a role in a fast-paced warehouse? We are hiring an Order Picker in Washington, D.C. to join our dedicated logistics team. In this role, you will be instrumental in fulfilling customer orders by accurately locating and retrieving specified items from our warehouse inventory. This position requires efficiency, accuracy, and a strong commitment to safety. You'll utilize order sheets or scanning devices to navigate the warehouse, carefully select products, and prepare them for the next stage of the shipping process. Key responsibilities include maintaining an organized workstation, ensuring inventory accuracy through diligent picking, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and a keen eye for detail to minimize errors. Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves considerable standing, walking, and lifting. Strict adherence to safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected at all times. Responsibilities:
- Select products from warehouse shelves based on order specifications.
- Use scanning devices or pick lists to identify and retrieve items.
- Ensure accuracy of picked items and quantities.
- Transport picked items to designated packing or staging areas.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damages.
- Follow all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous order picking or warehouse experience is a strong asset.
- Capability to perform lifting of up to 45 pounds regularly.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
