We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our busy **logistics** hub in San Jose, California. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly documenting all received items. A strong commitment to **safety** is essential, including proper **lifting** techniques and the consistent use of required **PPE**. This role requires keen attention to detail, good record-keeping skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical **logistics** function.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Verify quantities and item accuracy against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect received goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Prepare and distribute receiving documents.
- Follow all **safety** procedures and protocols.
- Wear and utilize appropriate **PPE** at all times.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving of received goods, up to 50 lbs.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of **logistics** operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related **logistics** field.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **lifting**, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **safety** standards.
- Familiarity with **PPE** requirements.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
Working Conditions:
This role is situated within a warehouse environment with potential exposure to dust and varying temperatures. Mandatory adherence to **PPE** and **safety** protocols is required.
