We have an exciting opportunity for a Receiving Clerk in Chicago, Illinois! As a key member of our logistics team, you will ensure the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming inventory. Your responsibilities will include unloading delivery trucks, meticulously inspecting goods for damage and verifying quantities against purchase orders, and promptly documenting all received items in our system. A commitment to Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all warehouse safety protocols and utilize all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). If you are a detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle physical tasks, including frequent Lifting, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Accurately verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all received goods using the warehouse management system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management.
- Stage materials in the designated receiving area for subsequent processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving environment.
- Ensure all company Safety policies are followed diligently.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and prompt processing of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse receiving role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
