We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Handler to join our thriving logistics hub in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, loading and unloading freight, and maintaining organized inventory. This position requires a strong commitment to Safety, efficiency, and a proactive approach to material handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any issues or needed repairs.
- Assist in receiving and put-away of inventory, ensuring accuracy.
- Support inventory control through proper stacking and organization of goods.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandated use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from hazards.
- Follow directions from supervisors and work collaboratively with the warehouse team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of material handling processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other relevant machinery.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform substantial physical work, including frequent Lifting of materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices and efficient logistics operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Willingness to consistently wear and maintain appropriate PPE.
