We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our busy warehouse operations in the heart of New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring that goods are stored, organized, and ready for shipment. Your efforts are key to maintaining an efficient and safe logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through scanning and documentation.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, promoting a culture of Safety.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is desirable. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Physical strength and stamina for manual tasks. Must be proficient in manual labor and capable of regular Lifting up to 50 lbs. Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures. Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions. Basic knowledge of inventory control principles. Must wear required PPE. Familiarity with logistics and shipping processes is a plus. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. This role requires a commitment to operational efficiency and a keen awareness of Safety protocols. The successful candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and dedicated to contributing to the smooth functioning of our warehouse and overall logistics chain. Your role is vital in keeping our operations moving forward.
