We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is crucial for ensuring that our products reach our customers accurately and on time. You will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, verifying order details, and coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups. A keen eye for detail and strong communication skills are essential for success in this position. You will work closely with the warehouse management to maintain efficient shipping operations and contribute to overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience with shipping software and a solid understanding of warehouse procedures. Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and process all outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipping information and product details against customer orders.
- Prepare shipping labels and necessary documentation, including bills of lading.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure they meet packaging standards.
- Maintain an organized shipping area and manage inventory of shipping supplies.
- Adhere to all company policies and **safety** regulations, including the proper use of **PPE**.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving packages as needed, ensuring safe lifting techniques are used.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the **logistics** department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate **lifting** (up to 50 lbs).
