Contract: Fixed Term (1 year) Full-Time, Term Time Only

Basic Salary: £20,422 - £23,232.69

Welcome to Easthorpe School , an independent specialist provision dedicated to supporting children and young people in the East Midlands. We cater to those living with their families, foster carers, or in residential children's homes.

Since opening our doors in November 2022, we are excited to expand our team to accommodate the growing number of pupils in our Lower School (ages 7-13). With class sizes capped at just six pupils, each classroom is supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants.

Our mission is to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and various diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. This is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students!

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in shaping the growth and development of our new provision. This position offers you the opportunity to enhance your skills while focusing on areas that resonate with your interests, such as:

• Food Hygiene
• Forest School
• Sport
• Therapy
• Emotional Literacy

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six.
• Assist the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and collaborate with staff to meet their needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurriculars and school trips.
• Help with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set and mark work as appropriate.
• Build positive relationships to foster interaction and learning outcomes.

• A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene or Forest School.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

The successful candidate will complete an enhanced DBS Check, with costs covered by Selwyn Hall School.
