We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will operate powered industrial trucks and other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading trailers, ensuring materials are safely stored in their designated locations, and participating in inventory control activities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, excellent physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Understanding and applying safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE use.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts or as a Material Handler preferred.
- Ability to perform significant lifting, up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Strong physical endurance and ability to work in a demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
