Nashville, Tennessee is seeking an organized and reliable Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the start. Your duties will include unloading trucks, meticulously inspecting delivered goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and properly documenting all receipts into our system. Maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area is paramount. This position involves regular physical activity, including moderate Lifting, and requires strict adherence to all Safety guidelines and the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload all incoming freight in a timely and safe manner.
- Visually inspect all merchandise for damages or defects and confirm quantities against shipping documents.
- Accurately record all received goods into the warehouse management system.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or missing items to supervisors promptly.
- Organize and stage incoming materials for put-away by other teams.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment like pallet jacks.
- Ensure the receiving dock is clean, clear, and compliant with all Safety standards.
- Consistently wear and correctly utilize all designated PPE.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal staff regarding receiving matters.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse receiving function is desirable.
- Must be capable of consistent Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Proficiency in using scanners and basic computer systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety practices is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
