We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our fast-paced logistics team in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. This includes verifying order details, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are properly labeled and loaded. Your attention to detail is paramount in this role to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to maintain an efficient workflow. Adherence to strict Safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in shipping and logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs forms.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL freight).
- Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and palletized according to carrier requirements.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to load outgoing trucks safely.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update order statuses in the system.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and correctly use all mandated PPE.
- Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations and documentation.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs) when necessary.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety best practices.
