We are looking for an energetic Picker/Packer to join our warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from our inventory and preparing them for shipment to our valued customers. This position is key to our logistics operations, requiring a sharp eye for detail and efficiency. You will work with order lists or scanning equipment to locate products, ensuring accuracy in every order. The ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick specified items from warehouse inventory.
- Verify item codes and quantities against order details.
- Carefully pack items using appropriate materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and documentation to packages.
- Maintain productivity standards for picking and packing.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all warehouse Safety protocols and wear mandated PPE.
- Assist in other warehouse functions as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a picking/packing or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to interpret pick lists and product information accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Capability to perform frequent Lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, and moving throughout the shift.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety best practices.
