Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking an experienced Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is vital for maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain, ensuring materials are transported efficiently and safely. You'll be working with a team dedicated to excellence, utilizing your skills to keep our operations running seamlessly. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and committed to upholding strict safety standards. Key duties include:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Moving materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Storing materials in designated locations.
- Counting and verifying incoming and outgoing materials.
- Assisting with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Following all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a secure environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, often exceeding 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if required.
