We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping & Receiving Associate in our busy Detroit, Michigan facility. This role is pivotal in managing the inbound and outbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, verifying contents, preparing outgoing orders, and maintaining organized records. A strong focus on Safety and attention to detail is essential for success in this logistics-focused position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and proper packaging.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update the system accordingly.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to upholding workplace Safety standards and consistent use of PPE.
