Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse. Your efficiency and attention to safety are vital to our operations. We require experienced operators who can handle various types of forklifts, maintain equipment, and contribute to a safe and productive work environment. This position demands strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the ability to perform manual lifting of up to 50 pounds when necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
- Move, stack, and retrieve inventory within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Comply with all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members.
- Ensure timely movement of goods to meet production and shipping schedules.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and improve skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified forklift operator with verifiable experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform manual lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
