We are looking for a certified Forklift Operator to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama, to manage the movement of goods within our busy warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of operations and maintaining a high level of productivity. You will perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts, report any maintenance issues, and ensure that all loads are secured properly. Working closely with the warehouse team, you will help maintain an organized and safe working environment. This position requires precision, alertness, and a strong commitment to Safety. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times. This role involves significant physical activity beyond operating the forklift, including occasional Lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your forklift skills in a vital logistics role.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured before transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to meet operational goals.
- Participate in ongoing Safety training.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
