Join our team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts, and play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse stock. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stocktaking, and reconciliation. This position requires a meticulous approach to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. You will work to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, implement process improvements, and ensure that our inventory system is up-to-date and reflects physical stock accurately. Your efforts will directly impact operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. We are looking for an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to upholding high standards of inventory control. This role is vital for optimizing stock levels and minimizing losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical inventory.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to prevent obsolescence.
- Process incoming and outgoing inventory movements accurately.
- Maintain organized and accessible inventory storage.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Report on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret inventory reports and data.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain best practices.
- Capability for moderate lifting, up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE.
