Job Overview
The State of Mississippi Department of Finance & Administration (DFA) is seeking an experienced Azure Solutions Architect & Administrator to lead enterprise cloud initiatives. This is a hands-on and strategic role responsible for designing, migrating, and managing Azure cloud environments, including large-scale migrations from on-premises and mainframe (zLinux) systems to Azure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement Azure IaaS and PaaS architectures
* Lead on-premises and mainframe (zLinux) migrations to Azure
* Develop cloud strategy, standards, and governance
* Implement DevOps automation for provisioning and configuration
* Manage hybrid cloud and infrastructure environments
* Ensure security, compliance, and best practices in Azure
* Support Windows Server and Linux environments
* Create documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
✅ Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
* 5+ years of Azure Solutions Architect experience
* 5+ years of Azure environment build and cloud migration
* 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience
* Strong experience with Azure security, governance, and compliance
* Network administration experience
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Experience supporting Windows Server environments
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
* Mainframe and zLinux migration experience
* Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE)
* PowerShell scripting and automation
* Exposure to AI/ML solutions
* Application monitoring and performance tools
