Louth An innovative automation engineering company is looking to appoint a Senior Automation Engineer to support the development and delivery of advanced automation systems across multiple industries.
Based in Dundalk, Co.
Louth, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact automation solutions that support robotics, manufacturing, marine technology, and pharmaceutical production environments.
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in system design, programming, testing, and commissioning while helping to guide and support junior engineers.
Responsibilities Manage the specification, development, installation and validation of automation projects Design and program bespoke automation systems and manufacturing solutions Lead system design, architecture and standard automation libraries Engage with customers to define and deliver technical requirements Evaluate technologies and optimise processes Provide technical leadership within engineering teams Support operations with troubleshooting and technical queries Mentor and develop junior engineers Manage documentation and change control processes Oversee commissioning and validation activities Requirements Third-level qualification in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field 5+ years industry experience in automation engineering Strong experience with technologies such as Rockwell xcfaprz Studio 5000, FT View, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7, Ignition, OSI PI Historian or VBA Understanding of 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP is beneficial Networking or infrastructure knowledge such as Cisco or VMware advantageous Experience with robotics and industrial safety standards desirable Strong problem-solving, organisational and leadership skills A competitive remuneration package will be offered based on experience and qualifications.
