Position Summary
CLF Consultants LLC seeks a Board-Certified Breast Imaging Radiologist to provide comprehensive breast imaging and diagnostic services at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. This is a full-time W-2 position dedicated to the early detection and management of breast diseases for Veterans. Approximately 80% of time is allocated to direct patient care, with 20% dedicated to administrative and quality improvement activities. The radiologist oversees the Mammography program and ensures daily compliance with ACR, FDA/VHA, and MQSA quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care (80%)
- Review and interpret mammography images with expertise and precision for early detection of breast diseases
- Interpret breast ultrasound, MRI, and other advanced imaging modalities
- Perform breast biopsy and image-guided interventional procedures
- Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and primary care physicians for comprehensive patient care
- Provide consultation to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for mammography and radiologic procedures
- Review orders and next-day patient cases (minimum two hours daily when needed)
- Conduct post-procedure evaluations and follow-up consultations
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with next care
Administrative Responsibilities (20%)
- Oversee Mammography program and ensure daily compliance with ACR, FDA/VHA, and MQSA standards
- Participate in Quality Improvement Committee meetings (quarterly)
- Attend Service Leadership meetings (monthly)
- Perform ongoing peer reviews (approximately 4 hours per month)
- Complete QM/PI documentation for all procedures, complications, and outcomes
- Document and report patient safety incidents
- Stay current on latest developments in breast imaging through continuing education
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology with breast imaging subspecialty
- Accredited by ACR (American College of Radiology) for Mammography
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
- Services meeting or exceeding American College of Radiology Guidelines
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- All continuing education requirements maintained and current
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) with appropriate taxonomy code
- Current DEA Certificate
- Fluency in English (speak, understand, read, and write)
- U.S. Citizenship required (E-Verify compliance)
Annual Mandatory Training
Radiologist completes 20+ mandatory training modules annually including: Active Threat Training, Blood Administration Complications, EHR Training, Government Ethics, Hospice and Palliative Care, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), PACT Act Toxic Exposure Screening (TES), Patient Safety, Suicide Prevention/Risk Management, Infection Control, VA Privacy and HIPAA, VHA MRI Safety (Level 1), and VISTA Imaging.

- VHA Directive : Fluoroscopy Safety
- VHA Directive : Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Safety
- VHA Directive 1187: Safe Injection of Radio-labeled Blood Products
- VHA Directive 1105: Management of Radioactive Materials
Immunization and Health Requirements
- Tuberculosis testing (TST or IGRA): negative, current within past year
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR): proof of immunity
- Varicella: proof of immunity
- Tdap: proof of one dose vaccination
- Influenza: annual vaccination required
- Hepatitis B: vaccination series and surface antigen test results
