Our Portland, Oregon logistics hub is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team! In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging materials, labeling shipments correctly, and generating shipping documents. You'll work closely with other departments to ensure all orders are processed efficiently and meet shipping deadlines. A key focus will be on maintaining clear and accurate records of all shipments. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to strictly follow all Safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves. This position may involve some moderate Lifting of packages, so physical capability is necessary. Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order details and product counts before shipping.
- Select appropriate packaging for different types of items.
- Label all packages correctly with shipping information.
- Generate and maintain shipping manifests and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear designated PPE at all times.
- Assist with tasks involving Lifting of boxes and materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting.
- Understanding and compliance with Safety standards and PPE usage.
