We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. You will be responsible for verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping methods, preparing shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order information against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Select the most appropriate shipping carriers and services based on requirements.
- Prepare and print shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update order status in the system.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques when handling packages.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed to support overall logistics operations.
This role involves standing, walking, and some lifting of packages. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy and administrative skills. A commitment to safety, including the consistent use of required PPE and employing safe lifting practices, is essential.
