We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant - Certified to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience in hematology and oncology medicine. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, performing medical procedures, and supporting clinical research initiatives within a dynamic healthcare environment. The Physician Assistant will utilize advanced EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation and efficient patient management. Candidates with experience in outpatient clinics, and hospital call/rounds is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting with a focus on quality patient outcomes and interdisciplinary collaboration.


Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history intake
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and diagnostic testing such as spinal taps or radiology procedures
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for acute pain management, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and chronic conditions
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient care across various settings including ICU, NICU, PICU, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics
  • Support clinical research activities including data collection, research trials, and compliance with NCQA standards
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques during all patient interactions
  • Coordinate discharge planning and post-acute care for optimal patient recovery
  • Utilize EMR systems effectively for documentation in Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks platforms
  • Provide health coaching and patient education on topics such as family planning, nutrition, addiction counseling, and disease prevention
  • Participate in infection control protocols and maintain high standards of infection prevention


Experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms
  • Experience managing ventilators (neonatal or adult), dialysis procedures, cardiac catheterization or radiation therapy is advantageous
  • Prior involvement in clinical trials or public health initiatives is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT/ICD-10/ICD-9), and diagnostic evaluation methods
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant from an accredited program is required; licensure must be current and unrestricted
  • Additional skills in telehealth services or outpatient clinic settings are beneficial
