As part of ongoing expansion, the firm is appointing an Audit Director to work closely with the Audit Partners, lead significant client portfolios and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the Audit department.
Crucially, this role comes with a defined and achievable pathway to Partnership. The firm has a strong track record of promoting Partners internally and is seeking someone who wants to step into a Partner role over the medium term 2-4 years.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of a broad audit portfolio, from planning through to partner sign-off.
Review audit files and financial statements, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Act as a senior technical and commercial sounding board to audit teams and Partners.
Manage WIP, billing, recoverability, resourcing and scheduling across your portfolio.
Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key clients.
Advise clients on audit planning, governance and risk management matters.
Lead, mentor and develop Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors and Trainees.
Play a key role in departmental strategy, quality initiatives and continuous improvement.
Contribute to tenders, proposals and fee negotiations.
Take ownership of business development activity and grow your own client portfolio.
Work collaboratively with Tax, Advisory and other service lines across the firm.
About You
8+ years’ post-qualification experience in professional practice.
Strong technical audit background across a range of sectors.
Proven experience leading teams and managing complex client relationships.
Commercially minded with a clear understanding of practice economics.
Ambitious, credible and motivated to progress to Partnership.
The Pathway to Partner
This role is designed as a stepping stone to Partnership. The successful candidate will:
Build and grow a personal client portfolio
Play an active role in firm strategy and leadership
Develop market presence and business development capability
Be supported and mentored by the existing Partner group
Time frames are performance driven rather than based on tenure, with a clear route to salary and equity Partner depending on preference and fit.
