Senior Network Engineer
specializing in Implementations. In this role, you will oversee installations, configurations, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment, and activation of networks for projects aiding DoD operations. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with customers, execute Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) processes, and manage reporting functions related to new network equipment and services to adhere to DISA standards.
Configure and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network, utilizing Cisco and Juniper devices tailored to specific site requirements.
Perform software upgrades on Cisco and Juniper hardware.
Create and modify project planning documentation including IP addressing schemes and equipment management IP selection.
Conduct systems analysis and consult with users to define functional requirements for hardware, software, and systems.
Ensure accurate contact information and formatting in accordance with established requirements.
Verify the accuracy of points of contact for circuit routing.
Engage with DISA project managers and customers to resolve requirements that may be incomplete or unclear.
Facilitate necessary approvals from stakeholders to maintain progress on service requests.
Essential Qualifications: Strong knowledge of network hardware specifications, configuration, testing processes, and industry standards.
Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.
Familiarity with networking architecture and the ability to assess and recommend new technologies.
Knowledge of data and voice network designs, including router-to-router connections with military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, and switch-to-switch trunking including VLANs.
Experience with network services and appliances (e.g., BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, routers, firewalls).
Proficient in configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while being self-motivated to achieve personal goals and enhance process proficiency.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for team building and collaboration.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with DISA or familiarity with DISA systems and processes.
Experience with SharePoint data entry or order processing.
Capability to manage service orders and input requests into the DISA Storefront (DSF).
History of conducting outreach to customers to ensure accuracy in POC and service requests.
Education and Experience: A BS degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of applicable experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
