Are you detail-oriented and organized? We are looking for a precise Shipping Clerk to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and documenting outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. Your duties will include verifying order details, packaging products securely, creating shipping labels, and maintaining shipping records. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of shipping procedures, and a commitment to ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. You will be a key player in our logistics chain, contributing to customer satisfaction. Safety is paramount; therefore, adherence to all safety protocols and the use of PPE is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify shipment details against customer orders and shipping manifests.
- Package products securely and efficiently to prevent damage.
- Generate and affix shipping labels and documentation.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier portals is a plus.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of transportation and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
