You will be a key player in our logistics chain, working closely with warehouse associates and carriers to maintain a smooth and efficient shipping process. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and manifests.
- Verify that outgoing shipments match customer orders and are correctly labeled.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and sealing.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed, ensuring the safety of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Understand the flow of goods within the logistics network and contribute to its efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners.
- The role requires some lifting of packages, typically up to 30 lbs.
- Ensure all shipping regulations and compliance requirements are met.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the shipping department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related administrative/warehouse role is preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency with computers and shipping software. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of shipping logistics and documentation is beneficial. Must be committed to workplace safety and properly use PPE. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate lifting is necessary.
