*Position Type:* Full-Time / Part-Time (Weekend Coverage)
*Reports To:* Director of Nursing (DON)
*Position Summary*
The Weekend RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing clinical operations during weekend shifts to ensure quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff coordination. This role provides clinical leadership, supports nursing staff, and ensures continuity of care in the absence of weekday leadership.
*Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Oversight*
* Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) during assigned weekend shifts.
* Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality resident care in accordance with physician orders and care plans.
* Conduct clinical rounds and assess residents for changes in condition.
* Respond to emergencies and provide direct clinical support as needed.
* Review incident reports and initiate appropriate follow-up actions.
*Staff Leadership*
* Serve as the highest-ranking clinical leader on duty during weekends.
* Provide coaching, guidance, and real-time problem resolution.
* Address staffing concerns and coordinate coverage for call-offs.
* Promote teamwork and maintain a professional work environment.
* Participate in progressive discipline when indicated and document appropriately.
*Regulatory & Compliance*
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
* Monitor infection control practices and safety protocols.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely charting.
* Prepare and communicate weekend clinical updates to weekday leadership.
*Communication*
* Serve as liaison between physicians, families, residents, and staff.
* Communicate significant changes in resident condition to appropriate parties.
* Provide detailed shift reports to DON and/or Administrator.
* Support interdisciplinary collaboration.
*Qualifications*
* Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
* Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (long-term care or post-acute preferred).
* Prior supervisory experience preferred.
* Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
*Physical Requirements*
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
*Work Schedule*
* Weekend coverage (e.g., Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Sunday).
* 8–12 hour shifts depending on facility needs.
* On-call responsibilities may apply.
Pay: $50.00 - $62.00 per hour
