design to join their growing team. This is a hands-on, technical engineering role responsible for taking products from concept through production.
The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also comfortable managing their own projects and interacting directly with customers. You will serve as the technical lead on assigned programs-owning design development, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring successful project execution from start to finish. This is a direct hire role that is hybrid. Client expects three days in office and 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development Lead mechanical design of products utilizing sheet metal fabrication and injection molded components Develop 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimize manufacturability and cost Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to validate designs Support prototyping, testing, and product validation efforts Drive design revisions and engineering changes through production Project Management
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to launch Develop and maintain project timelines and milestones Coordinate cross-functional activities (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain) Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation plans Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope Customer Interaction
Serve as a technical point of contact for customers Participate in design reviews and technical discussions Translate customer requirements into functional product designs Provide regular project updates and manage expectations Support quoting and feasibility assessments as needed Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 2+ years of product design experience Expertise in:
Sheet metal design (forming, bending, welding, tolerance stack-up) Exposure to OR experience with Injection molding design (plastic part design, tooling considerations, material selection)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar) Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards Experience taking products from concept through production release Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent communication skills and ability to interface directly with customers
