Staff Software Engineer - Audio / Open Source

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductors and wireless technology that is redefining the soundscape of the future. The team are looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer to drive the development of audio frameworks across Linux, Zephyr, and DSP platforms. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of high-performance embedded systems and Open Source contribution.

This is a permanent working opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this Staff Software Engineer position:

• 
  
• OS Leadership: Develop and debug software on ARM architectures running Linux and Zephyr, with a focus on upstreaming to the open-source community.
  
• Multimedia Frameworks: Architect and maintain audio stacks using PipeWire and ALSA.
  
• Hardware Integration: Drive driver development for audio mixed-signal peripherals, including CODECs, Smart Amps, and Digital Mics.
  
• Audio Interconnects: Implement support for standard interfaces such as I2S, TDM, and SoundWire.
  

Key requirements:

• 
  
• Experience: 5–8 years in embedded development/debugging on ARM or MCU-based SoCs.
  
• Open Source Soul: A passionate contributor or maintainer of projects like PipeWire, ALSA, or the Linux Kernel.
  
• Tech Stack: Expert proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
  
• Embedded Mastery: Deep understanding of power/performance trade-offs on ARM Linux and DSP platforms. xcfaprz
