Project Estimator

Job Description

Summary
The Project Estimator is responsible for producing accurate, profitable estimates for insurance restoration projects using notes, scopes, and photos provided by the field team. They also perform ongoing and final file audits to ensure documentation quality and compliance throughout the life of each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, audit, and evaluate notes, scopes, and photos from Project Managers and Technicians.
• Input field notes and write estimates using standard industry estimating software (Xactimate or Symbility).
• Submit estimates and related documentation to insurance adjusters for review and approval.
• Record detailed notes and compile all required documentation for the duration of each job.
• Participate in weekly project team meetings and provide updates on estimate status.
• Prepare initial estimates and change orders based on field scope notes and technician worksheets.
• Submit files to TPAs and collaborate with all parties to obtain estimate approval.
• Resolve minor estimate discrepancies with adjusters and homeowners.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and TPAs regarding estimates and related questions.
• Conduct ongoing file audits throughout the project to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Provide regular status updates to the project team and properly document all actions with clear notes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance restoration estimating utilizing Xactimate.
• Strong understanding of insurance claims processes and terminology.
• Solid knowledge of building construction methods and current building codes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry CRMs.
• IICRC certifications are preferred.
• Symbility experience preferred.
