We are seeking a Laboratory Associate to join our dedicated on‑site team in Blanchardstown, Dublin. This role will oversee daily laboratory support operations and ensure service levels are consistently achieved.

About the Role
Are you working in retail, hospitality, warehousing or stock control and looking to take your skills into a new industry? Would working in a modern, state‑of‑the‑art pharmaceutical facility excite you? As a Laboratory Associate with Avantor, you'll play a key role in supporting scientists at our customer's site in Blanchardstown. By handling vital laboratory support services, you'll enable researchers to focus on their core science while you keep the lab running safely and efficiently.
What you'll do
- Prepare non‑GMP buffers, solvents, and mobile phases, ensuring accurate labelling, documentation in ELN, and compliance with SHE procedures.
- Support preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and routine calibration checks for laboratory instruments (pipettes, balances, pH meters, freezers, glassware washers, etc.).
- Collect, wash, inspect, and restock laboratory glassware, disposing of damaged items.
- Manage glassware stock levels and process ad‑hoc orders when required.
- Clean and decontaminate specialist laboratory equipment.
- Perform regular freezer de‑icing and equipment upkeep.
- Support unpacking and logging of chemical/sample deliveries into the laboratory system.
- Assist with preparation and coordination of sample shipments, ensuring compliance with safety and site procedures.
- Maintain accurate records for equipment servicing and laboratory activities.
- Operate equipment in line with site procedures, safety and regulatory requirements.
What we're looking for
- Education: BSc [or equivalent] in a scientific discipline, including laboratory‑based modules, or several years of relevant laboratory technician experience.
- Experience: Customer‑facing experience in retail, hospitality.
- Additional: Previous exposure to a laboratory environment or knowledge of health & safety procedures is an advantage (essential).
- Skills: Strong IT skills.
- Personal: Hands‑on, proactive, and eager to learn new skills in a science‑focused setting.
- Other: Based in/near Dublin with a full driving licence and own transport highly preferred.
