Description Join Leidos as we support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in delivering critical command and control services to the Department of Defense and national security organizations. We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to oversee network installations, configurations, and activations that are vital to ensuring the functionality of defense communications. This position as a Network Engineer for Implementations and Activations offers the chance to play a crucial role in on-site projects at Scott AFB, IL, contributing directly to the operation of the Defense Information System Network (DISN). Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with customers to ensure successful network equipment installations following DISA standards, including Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) processes. Manage and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network, configuring Cisco and Juniper devices according to site-specific needs. Perform software upgrades on networking equipment, ensuring optimal performance and security. Document project plans, create IP addressing schemes, and manage port assignments on out-of-band management systems. Engage with users to assess hardware and software requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs. Verify accuracy of contact points and equipment locations, ensuring all information is compliant with required formats. Collaborate with DISA project managers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve any outstanding issues. Facilitate the approval process by maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders involved in service requests. Basic Qualifications: Strong knowledge of network hardware, testing processes, and equipment specifications. Experience in network engineering, problem solving, and performance management. Understanding of networking architectures and experience in recommending new technologies for enhanced capabilities. Familiarity with data and voice network designs utilizing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, and various circuit configurations. Proficient in network services and appliances: BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, and VLAN. Strong analytical skills in configuring and testing network systems. Able to work both independently and collaboratively, striving for continual professional development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration. Must possess an active Secret security clearance. Have a documented IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent). Preferred Qualifications: Prior DISA experience or familiarity with DISA systems and processes. Experience with SharePoint data entry or order processing in similar systems. Proven track record of managing service orders and ensuring accuracy for all service requests. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
