We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and meet quality standards. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying order details, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate inventory records related to outgoing goods. You will play a key part in the smooth operation of our warehouse and contribute to overall customer satisfaction. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount in this position. We require individuals who are proactive and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with shipping software and a good understanding of logistics operations is a plus. Daily tasks will involve using scanners, entering data into our WMS, and ensuring proper labeling and packaging of all items. Adherence to all company safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting will also be necessary. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and verify shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing orders before shipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and inventory movements.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding order status.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed and secured for transit.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
