Join our dynamic logistics operation in San Diego, California, as a Shipping Clerk! We are seeking an organized and efficient individual to manage the outbound flow of our products. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipments, verifying order accuracy, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outgoing packages meet our quality standards and carrier requirements. This role is critical for timely and accurate delivery to our customers. You will work closely with the picking and packing teams to ensure orders are processed smoothly. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and logistics is essential. We emphasize a safe work environment, and you must adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with shipping software and carrier portals is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by assembling, packing, and labeling orders accurately.
- Verify order details against shipping documents to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
- Generate and apply appropriate shipping labels, customs forms, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and to resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments or customers as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments, including manifests and tracking information.
- Ensure that all packages comply with carrier regulations and company shipping policies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure a seamless logistics process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Proficiency with shipping software and order management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and labeling.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
